This policy explains what personal data we collect through metzcars.com, why we collect it and what you can do about it. Processing is carried out under Regulation (EU) 2016/679 (GDPR).

2. What we collect and why
Contact, test drive and financing forms: name and phone number (required so that we can answer you), email address (optional), your message and preferred date, plus the car the request refers to. Legal basis: pre-contractual steps at your request (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR) and our legitimate interest in answering enquiries (Art. 6(1)(f)).
Stock alerts: your email address and search criteria. Legal basis: your consent (Art. 6(1)(a)), given by ticking the box. You can unsubscribe in one click — the data is then permanently deleted.
Technical data: IP address, browser type and pages visited, in the server logs, solely for security and operation.
3. What we do not do
We do not sell or rent your data to anyone. We do not use it for automated profiling with legal effects. We do not send commercial newsletters without explicit consent. We use no advertising tracking tools.
4. Who else has access
The hosting provider, the email service provider, partner financial institutions (only if you request a financing offer, and only with your consent) and public authorities where the law requires it.
If you accept analytics cookies, statistical data also reaches Google Ireland Limited. Google may transfer that data to the United States under the EU–US Data Privacy Framework. If you decline, nothing is sent. Data from the forms never reaches Google and does not leave the European Economic Area.
5. How long we keep the data
Enquiries that do not lead to a sale: at most 2 years from the last contact. Stock alerts: until you unsubscribe. Documents related to a sale: according to the statutory accounting retention periods. Technical logs: at most 12 months.
6. Your rights
You have the right of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, objection and portability, as well as the right to withdraw consent at any time. You can exercise these rights by writing to us by email; we reply within 30 days at the latest.
If you are not satisfied with our answer, you may contact the Romanian Data Protection Authority (dataprotection.ro).
7. Security
The site runs exclusively over an encrypted connection (HTTPS). Access to the data in the admin panel is protected by account and password and limited to the people who need it.
